Hello and welcome to my blog on the most beautiful locations in the Czech Republic! I adore discovering them, writing about them, and telling you about my adventures.
My name is Petra, and I was born in the mid-1970s. I am married to a charming man, and we have two wonderful sons. We traveled a lot as a family in the Czech Republic and beyond when our kids were little.
However, as the boys grow older, they develop their own hobbies and are less interested in traveling with their parents. Now that I have more time, I've decided to travel around the Czech Republic, viewing the locations that are worth seeing but that I haven't had time to visit yet. I know how beautiful our country is, which is why I want you to learn about it as well!

So I made a bucket list of locations I want to visit and am making my dreams come true. I travel alone, with the odd help from one of my sons, my husband, or my mom.
Just so you know, traveling throughout our country is not tough for me as a Czech. The Czech Republic is small enough that you can drive by car from one end to the other in four hours.

You might be wondering why my travel blog is called Postcard from Czechia.
Traveling was not as common when I was a little girl as it is now. We used to think of every journey as a holiday, a pleasant escape from daily life. And every time we traveled, we sent postcards home. Dropped into an orange mailbox with a handwritten greeting and a stamp. I recall my parents keeping a box of postcards from trips and summer camps that we sent them as kids!

Today's world is fast-paced and heavily digital. I'd like to slow down time a little, so I decided to send a postcard from each place I visit to someone special. I know it will make people considerably happier than a photo shared on social media or a text message sent in a hurry. Not only do postcards have their own unique appeal, but they also don't just disappear into thin air if we keep them.
Now that you know who I am and how my blog got its name, I'd love it if you could be my traveling buddy in the Czech Republic!
P. S. Since 2020, I've also been running a blog with Czech recipes. If you want to discover some secrets of Czech cuisine, please visit my site here: CookLikeCzechs.com
